Idea status labels are a way of providing feedback to users. Administrators and moderators can give a label to an idea, which is then displayed on the idea page and above the idea title on the challenge page.

If you are the administrator of a community, you can edit and create your own status labels in Community settings. For information on status labels and how to create your own see our Managing idea status labels help guide.

Moderators and administrators can give a status label to an idea in two ways: from the idea page, or from the challenge page if they would like to add the same status to more than one idea simultaneously,

In this article:

  • Applying status labels from an idea page

  • Applying status labels to multiple ideas

  • Removing status labels from multiple ideas

Adding status labels from an idea page

If you are on an idea page would like to add a status label to the idea, this can be done through the Moderator tool bar, which is found above the title of the idea.

1. On the Moderator toolbar, click Idea status to open the Idea status window. This will show you the available status labels that you can add to the idea.

2. To add a label, click the tickbox next to the status (or statuses) that you would like to add and click Save. The idea page will refresh and the labels that you have selected will appear above the idea title.

You can add or remove any status labels this way by either selecting the label(s) that you'd like to add or deselecting any that you'd like to remove. Click Save on the window to apply the changes to the idea.

Applying status labels to multiple ideas

If you would like to add a status label to more than one idea, you can add them to multiple ideas at once by using the Moderator tools on the challenge page.

1. Go to the challenge that has the ideas you'd like to edit and hover your mouse over an idea that you'd like to select. As you do this you'll notice that the idea dims and a tick box appears in the top right corner of the tile. Tick this to select the idea.

2. When you have selected your first idea, the moderator tool bar will appear along the top of the challenge page. You will also see that each idea now has a box that you can tick.

Select any ideas that you'd like to give a status label to. Selected ideas will have a purple outline and a solid tick in the checkbox.
