  • Challenge statistics overview

  • Downloading all ideas from a challenge

  • Downloading a challenge vote log

  • Downloading the ideas in a challenge as a csv

Challenge statistics overview

In the Analytics section of Crowd Management, the Data Export tab shows a list of the ideas that have been posted in a challenge, along with the number of votes and comments that they have received. When you first open the tab, you will see a list of the Published and Archived challenges in your community.

Good to know

If you want to look at the ideas and statistics for a challenge that you've unpublished, you'll need to go to Challenge Management to Archive the challenge.

When it's archived, you will see it on the challenge stats page.

Click on the name of one of your challenges to see a list of ideas posted in that challenge.

If the challenge is a funnel challenge, you will see the funnel phases to the right of the challenge summary. Click on the number of a phase to see the ideas that are in that phase; the ideas listed are only those that are in the highlighted phase.

Attention

If you want to download any challenge activity, make sure that you have selected the phase for which you want the activity.

Downloading ideas from a challenge

1. Go to Analytics in the Crowd Management menu, then click on the Data Export tab.

2. Select the challenge from which you'd like the ideas. If there is more than one phase in the challenge, select the phase from which you want the information.

3. To download one idea, click on the Download as HTML link next to the idea that you want to download.

4. To download all ideas in that challenge/phase, click on the All ideas as ZIP link. If there are lots of ideas in the challenge, you'll see a pop up window that this may take several minutes to download:

5. Press Begin Export to download a .zip file containing html files for each of the ideas, as well as any images that were attached them. You'll be shown how much of the download has processed in the next window:

You will need to extract all files to see the idea images as part of the html file, if you don't you will see a broken image icon in place of the images.

Downloading the vote log

The vote log is a record of all of the votes given to ideas in a challenge, it shows who voted for which ideas and the value of the vote.

To download the vote log for a challenge:

  1. Go to Analytics in the Crowd Management menu, then click on the Data Export tab.

  2. Select the challenge from which you'd like the vote log. If there is more than one phase in the challenge, select the phase from which you want the information.

  3. Click on the text that says Vote log, if it is a challenge without phases, or Vote log for selected phase if it does have phases.

  4. This will download a .csv file containing a log of all of the votes made in that challenge or phase.

  • If a challenge used thumbs up rating, the vote value will always be 1

  • If the voting type for the challenge was set to thumbs up/thumbs, the vote values will show as 1 for a thumbs up and -1 for a thumbs down.

  • If you have star rating or point score style voting turned on, the vote value will reflect the value that the user entered when they made their vote (e.g 4 out of 5 stars will show as a vote value of 4).

Downloading a list of the ideas, idea scores and comments

If you want a good overview of what the ideas were, and how they scored, then the challenge .csv file is very useful.

The challenge .csv download is a file that shows a list of all ideas, their associated comments and their score. This information is presented in a spreadsheet format, which makes it easy to scan and sort the ideas.

To download a list of ideas and comments:

  1. Go to Analytics in the Crowd Management menu, then click on the Data Export tab.

  2. Select the challenge for which you'd like the download, if there is more than one phase in the challenge, select the phase from which you want the information.

  3. Click on the text that says All ideas as CSV, this will download a CSV file containing all of the ideas and comments from that challenge or phases.
